Saltgrain grew from advances in Attribute-Based Encryption pioneered by Dr. Amit Sahai and Dr. Brent Waters, Director of NTT Research’s Cryptography & Information Security Lab.
Scale Academy recognized the technology’s commercial potential and built its first product around it: the industry’s first Sovereign Data Platform.

Bennett Indart leads Scale Academy and business incubation at NTT Research, turning early-stage innovations into scalable products and services.
He brings more than 25 years of experience in technology services, enterprise software and product development, including executive roles at NTT DATA. Bennett holds a BA in Architecture from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.
